So I attended the 27 Dinner event this evening. I think Dave Duarte (and the others I'm not aware of) did a good job of organizing the event, and it looked like most people were enjoying it.
I enjoyed the talk by Phil Barrett on user experience, although I did find it quite annoying that some people kept on talking and laughing during his presentation. The the rest of the evening I found a little boring. I expected more presentations, or maybe some group discussions.
But then I realised that it was a dinner after all. People are supposed to talk to each other (read "network"), eat something, talk some more and then go home. Presentations and slideshows should not even be necessary. And that is what I expected - presentations about cool stuff.
So while I do think it's an interesting event , it's not an event that I would need to go to again. The food was good though. :)
